It is a type of savory bread that may have various toppings such as onion or cheese. Focaccia is generally baked in a flat sheet pan, and then served cut in various sizes and shapes.

pizza dough (basic recipe)
1/4 cup olive oil
1/4 oz. coarse salt



Prepare the dough following the Pizza Dough Basic Recipe. In a well greased baking pan, flatten out one half of the dough and drizzle with oil; roll over the remaining dough and drizzle generously with oil, adding a pinch of salt (preferably coarse salt) and bake for about half an hour at 360ºF.

Focaccia is best eaten warm. It is often topped with other ingredients such as fresh sage, rosemary, chopped black olives, lightly salted onions, cheese or a combination of ingredients alike.
