For the first time, the visitors of Lounge Italia will have the opportunity to taste exquisite dishes prepared by Italian chefs exclusively with protected origin ingredients.
This means that the pasta, olive oil, cheese, rice and other ingredients used to create the mouth-watering recipes are produced from scratch only in areas designated as DOP (Protected Designation of Origin Designation) or IGP (Protected Geographical Indication).
For example, Pasta di Gragnano IGP is produced only in Gragnano, near Naples. No other pasta is allowed, by Italian law, to bear the name. The saffron ”Zafferano dell’Aquila” used to make the fragrant saffron rice grows only in the province of L’Aquila in Abruzzo, and so on for a long list of exceptional products.
