The Cà Montebello Farm has profound roots, as it was founded in 1936. However, the Scarani family has maintained experience in growing grapes for numerous generations. During the 1970's, Luigi Scarani, the owner of the estate made a qualitative choice by deciding to combine his father Angelo's experience with the latest techniques in wine production. Today, Cà Montebello is one of the most advanced farms in the area, in constant evolution, while still remaining true to its origins. This means that this vineyard produces wine with modern techniques, but also with the experience and "eye" that the old growers practiced when genuineness was a matter of tradition.
Care for the vineyards and simplicity in the production are the foundations of this farm. The cellar, equipped with the best machines for vinification, has modern stainless steel tanks. Therefore, a high quality wine of particular structure and fineness is obtained only after the careful selection of grapes and fermentation at controlled temperatures. New vineyards have been planted so that grapes may be harvested at the appropriate degree of ripeness, with the objective of achieving higher quality and not greater quantity.
The Scarani estate is located on the very first hills over the plain, in one of the most spectacular and typical settings of the Oltrepò. It boasts about 30 hectares of vineyards, specialized in the production of various grape varieties: Pinot Nero, Barbera, Croatina, Chardonnay, Riesling Italico and Moscato. Other noble vines, also present in significant amounts, integrate wonderfully with the local habitat.
Cà Montebello Farm has become a reference point for connoisseurs and lovers of good wine. Luigi and Ines, along with their daughter Cristina and son Alberto, manage the farm with the true passion of winegrowers. They love their profession, and they combine a traditional agricultural philosophy with modern technology, considering both as inseparable means to achieve quality in their wine.
