VINO 2009 - Italian Wine Week will showcase the regions of ABRUZZO, CALABRIA, LOMBARDY, TUSCANY and VENETO, in addition to wines from all over Italy, many presented by US importers, at its inaugural conference on Italian wine this January 23rd through the 30th, with events in Boston, New York and Miami.
Vino 2009 is the largest wine conference ever presented by the Italian Trade Commission in America, bringing together leading Italian wine producers and US wine industry professionals. More than 270 wine producers from all over Italy will be presented throughout the week.
Vino 2009 is open exclusively to wine and food industry professionals. Admission is complimentary and business identification will be required to attend.

“Vino 2009 is designed to foster relationships among Italian wine producers and wine buyers and marketers in the U.S., both on and off-premise. The regions presented in this year’s program represent an exciting range of styles from vastly different geographical areas of Italy. Seminars will be led by some of the most knowledgeable individuals working in the wine industry today who will address trends and transitions in the business,” said Aniello Musella, Italian Trade Commissioner and Executive Director for the USA.
The program will kick off January 23rd–25th, during the Boston Wine Expo at the Seaport/World Trade Center, with a series of seminars and tastings. A three day conference in New York will start Monday, January 26th, with a welcome reception at the Waldorf Astoria.
On Tuesday, January 27th, daylong seminars and tastings will be held at the New York Palace. Each session will be led by a top wine educator, author, journalist or marketer. The Consorzio Brunello di Montalcino will host a by invitation lunch for wine buyers and journalists at the Villard House at the New York Palace.
On Wednesday, January 28th, morning seminars will be followed by an afternoon grand tasting on two floors of the New York Hilton, from 2:00pm to 9:00pm, allowing attendees to walk around and taste the wines from more than 250 vintners. In association with the grand tasting, the Consorzio Brunello di Montalcino will hold its annual "Benvenuto Brunello" to preview the region’s five-star-rated 2004 vintage.
Vino 2009 will conclude in Miami on Friday, January 30th, at the Intercontinental Hotel with a daylong program including a seminar and walk around tasting.
