Lyn Farmer is a wine educator and a widely published writer on wine and food. He is Senior Editor of The Wine News magazine, and his articles have been honored with the James Beard Foundation Award for best writing on wine and spirits, the most prestigious award in the wine and food industries.
Since 1999, Lyn has been director of the Miami Wine and Food Festival benefitting United Way of Miami-Dade and Camillus House, an event that nets over $1 million annually for its charities. For a 11 years he was senior restaurant critic of the South Florida Sun-Sentinel newspaper.
Lyn is an avid traveler and for a decade was affiliated with Regent Seven Seas Cruises as Director of Entertainment and Special Events, and now is a wine consultant to Silversea Cruises and other companies for whom he has created a video series on wine that has significantly increased wine sales.
He is a passionate music lover and teacher and for many years was program director and morning host of a classical music radio station. He has also taught music appreciation at the University of Miami and Florida International University. He began his professional career in the Foreign Service with the US Information Agency specializing in cultural affairs.
