Elin McCoy has chronicled the world of wine for 30 years. Her most recent book is the highly praised The Emperor of Wine: The Rise of Robert M. Parker, Jr. and the Reign of American Taste, which was published on July 1, 2008. She is wine and spirits columnist for Bloomberg Markets and the Bloomberg News Wire, and was a contributing editor at Food & Wine for 25 years.

An award-winning journalist, her writings on wine, food, travel, and social issues have appeared in The New York Times, House & Garden, Parents, Organic Style, and many other publications. McCoy, who has also written four children's books, one parenting book and a travel book, is the co-author of Thinking About Wine, a frequent speaker at wine events, and an international wine judge.
