Varieties:
Vine variety requirements for this appellation's area change according to type.
Type Bianco: Trebbiano toscano, 70-85%; Grechetto and/or Verdello and/or Garganega and/or Malvasia toscana, up to 30%; other local white varieties, up to 15%.
Types Rosso, Novello and Rosato: Sangiovese, 65-80%; Montepulciano and/or Ciliegiolo and/or Canaiolo and/or Merlot and/or Barbera, up to 30%; other local red varieties, up to 15%.
Varietal types: the blend proportions are always the same, variety indicated in the type name, 85%; other similar varieties admitted under the DOC law, 15%.
