Type Rosso: Sangiovese, 40%; Ciliegiolo and/or Gamay and/or Merlot and/or Cabernet, 30%; other local red varieties, up to 30%. Types Rosso Scelto and Rosato: Gamay and/or Cabernet sauvignon and/or Merlot and/or Pinot nero, 70%; Sangiovese, 15%; other local red varieties, up to 15%. Type Spumante Classico: Chardonnay and/or Pinot bianco and/or Pinot grigio and/or Pinot nero and/or Grechetto, 70%; other local white varieties, up to 30%. Varietal types: the blend proportions are always the same, variety indicated in the type name, 85%; other similar varieties admitted under the DOC law, 15%.
