Vine variety requirements for this appellation's area change according to type. Type Rosso and Rosato: Negro amaro, with the possible addition of non-aromatical local red varieties, up to a maximum of 35%. Type Bianco: Chardonnay, with the possible addition of non-aromatical local white varieties, up to a maximum of 45%. Varietal types: the blend proportions are always the same, variety indicated in the type name, 85%; other similar varieties admitted under the DOC law, 15%.
