	Vine variety requirements for this appellation's area change according to type. Types Rosso, Rosato, Buttafuoco and Sangue di Giuda: Barbera, 25-65%; Croatina, 25-65%; Uva rara and/or Ughetta and/or Pinot nero, up to 45%. Type Bonarda: Croatina, 85-100%; Barbera and/or Uva rara and/or Ughetta, up to 15%. Type Barbera: Barbera, 85-100%; Croatina and/or Uva rara and/or Ughetta and/or Pinot nero, up to 15%. Spumante Metodo Classico, Bianco or Rosato: Pinot nero, 70%; Chardonnay and/or Pinot grigio and/or Pinot bianco, up to 30%. Varietal types: the blend proportions are always the same, variety indicated in the type name, 85%; other similar varieties admitted under the DOC law, 15%.
