Varieties:
Vine variety requirements for this appellation's area change according to type. Types Bianco, Vendemmia Tardiva and Vin Santo Bianco: Pinot bianco and/or Pinot Grigio and/or Chardonnay, 70-100%; other local white varieties, up to 30%.
Types Rosso and Vin Santo Rosso: Sangiovese, 50-100%; Pinot nero and/or Merlot, up to 50%; other local red varieties, up to 25%.
Varietal types: the blend proportions are always the same, variety indicated in the type name, 85%; other similar varieties admitted under the DOC law, 15%.
