Varieties:
Vine variety requirements for this appellation's area change according to type.
Types Rosso and Rosato: Negro Amaro; with the possible addition of Malvasia nera di Brindisi and/or Malvasia nera di Lecce, up to 20%.
Type Bianco: Chardonnay, with the possible addition of local white varieties up to 30%
Types Aleatico Dolce and Aleatico Dolce Liquoroso: Aleatico, 85%; Negro Amaro and/or Malvasia and/or Primitivo, up to 15%.
Type Pinot bianco: Pinot bianco, 85%; Chardonnay and/or Sauvignon, up to 15%.
