Appellations

Vicenza (DOC)

ive important wines (Lessini Durello, Arcole, Breganze, Colli Berici and Gambellara) are produced in the same part of the province of Vicenza where this D.O.C. is produced. As often in similar cases, these important wines have overshadowed their minor sibling, even though the latter has enough character to win the praises of experts if only it were produced in a less crowded area.

The Vicenza D.O.C. was established only in the year 2000, with the hope that it would rally those traditional wines that are at the basis of the local production. The wines of this appellation are made with grapes that have grown on those hills for decades, if not centuries. They have great character, as demonstrated by Garganega, which maintains its character intact in four different versions: still, semi-sparkling, sparkling, and passito.
